Oh, Well
I think I'm going to have a pretty deformed toenail on my big left toe. :) It used to be nice to look at, according to some passerbyers, but those days are most certainly over. I cracked the nail *big time* on Christmas Eve when I landed after an energized, high-velocity leap across an ally-way street in South Philly. I wanted to make it to the other side of the street. I did make it and I felt the deep and exciting joy of VICTORY! I also felt the PAIN of victory. I landed with so much forward force that my toe slammed against the inside of the front of my shoe. CRACK. yes. CRACK. My toenail cracked almost all the way across the base part. Fun! Anyway, it's been interesting to watch it heal. I had an appt. with a podiatrist, but I chickened out in a couple of ways and I didn't go. Now, however, I'm thinking that I should have. My nail is starting to grow down into my skin on the top (not the side) of my toe and it's only halfway up the part that is bare. Hmmm.... Some people used to say that I had pretty toes. Now they're pretty deformed. Oh, well. :) The good news is that I never thought my toes were anything to look at anyway... until now, that is. You oughta see her. !!!! My students squirm and hold themselves when they get a good look at it. It's pretty cool. :)

you should get your chickens back in and go to the podiatrist! There's still hope for your poor toe...

who again? please tell me why i might regret it. i am hoping that all i will have to deal with is the emotional instability that comes along with never getting to be a big left toe model.
